Animal Kingdom

The political scenario in India can be readily compared to that of an animal kingdom. Even though the Singh (Lion) is sitting on the throne, he has to behave like Gandhi's 3-in-1 'mankey'. He has to turn a blind eye to the huge budget deficit. Speak well of his government's social goals and listen to no criticism against his foreign policy.
The Lion, worried about the increasing populace of snakes around him a.k.a. Left vipers has decided to roar but not yet attack. The opposition parties are acting like jealous hyenas ever since May, 2004 - they want to rule the animal kingdom again and their biggest problem is that they have no real problem to talk about in the democratic zoo. They rely on religious sentiments and terrorist campaigns to belittle the kingdom.
The ministers in the Lion's cabinet are:
Donkey Lalloo who has the distinction of being incharge of Railways. The trains compete with Lalloo's breed when he organises special races for his klin in the dense jungles of Bihar. The Giraffesque Patel, who seems to be neck-deep in troubled waters has nothing to offer except a long neck and a receding Home. The hippo Mukherjee, who has a thick shield in his Defence armoury always seems angry at not being born a Lion and befriending the Queen Bee in time.
The Lion has many tasks written in his den.
He wants to befriend the Tiger, and revive their population. He wants to bring about prosperity in his kingdom by making Cows flourish in lush green fields of Punjab. He wants to see the Bulls become stronger and Bears surrender. He wants to get rid of BJP Bats, DMK Rats and VHP Cats. Lastly, he wants to make his animal kingdom a little more civilized.
